As of last night, Ben is leading this years rookie class in points, assists (yes, even over Lonzo), rebounds, and steals. All of this while playing for a 76ers team that has, so far, played the toughest schedule of any other team in the NBA.

Guys like Dennis Smith, Lauri Markkanen, DeAaron Fox, and Jayson Tatum would all have convincing arguments for best rookie in any other year. But this isn’t any other year. This is Ben Simmons’ year.

Nearly one month ago, everybody here at The Sixer Sense gave their predictions for the season. All but one person gave Ben Simmons the nod to win ROY. That person may want to use this time to change their vote.

In that piece, I predicted Ben would average 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Honestly, I thought I may have set the bar a little high. Turns out, I undersold him. Boasting a 17/9/8 stat-line going into last nights game against the Clippers, Ben Simmons has been everything Sam Hinkie was looking for in a generational and tank-worthy superstar. If Joel Embiid is “The Process”, Ben Simmons is “The Result”.
