NBA Rumors: Derrick Rose dilemma creates opportunity for Philadelphia 76ers?

Stauskas versatile bargain for Cavaliers
But Nik Stauskas could be another matter altogether. He did not come to the Philadelphia 76ers via a top draft pick. Rather, he arrived as an afterthought to the blockbuster deal with the Sacramento Kings. Since he cost the team nothing, his asking price is inherently less.
Stauskas can play NBA point guard, even in a starting role. No, he is not as naturally inclined as T.J. McConnell, but he has a great court IQ and is versatile. Given enough playing minutes, he can pump in 10 or more points per game, pull down three or more rebounds, and sneak a steal per game. Check out his smooth assist to Jahlil Okafor in this video:
Stauskas brings both O and D
Cleveland loves defense. While Nik Stauskas is not the NBA’s elite defender, he knows how to play defense. In fact, at one point in time he was tutored by Coach Brown on upping his defense. We know how that worked out for Robert Covington. The reason you don’t hear much about Stauskas is simply the fact that he does not fit the current plans for the team.
But he can score. He can defend. And the bottom line is that on the Cleveland Cavaliers’ roster, that is plenty to help get that team back on an even keel. Even with an oft-injured Rose, the team is winning. With a more consistent contributor at the point guard, the Cavaliers will be in much better shape moving forward.
