Jackson brings excellent versatility to the defensive end, standing at 6-foot-7 with a 7-foot-3 wingspan. He has the tools needed to defend either forward spot in isolation, and possesses great instincts when defending the rim on the weakside or getting into passing lanes.
Offensively, Jackson’s main appeal was his hot shooting last season. That hasn’t quite held up in the early going this season, but it should eventually even out somewhere in the middle. Essentially, 44.1 percent was never sustainable.
Still, Jackson has obvious appeal as an elite defensive prospect with some niche value offensively. Indiana could benefit from another defensively-inclined body at the forward spots who can play off of Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner.
