The Suns have finally moved on from Eric Bledsoe, opening the window for a new lead guard. Sexton is the highest point guard on most draft boards at this stage in the season.
Even at 6-foot-2, long arms and ample explosiveness help make up for Sexton’s size disadvantage. He’s a questionable shooter, but is plenty confident in his shot and can score in droves when he’s in ryhtym. His quickness and frame allow him to finish at a high rate in traffic as well.
Defense is where Sexton jumps off the proverbial screen. He’s more competitive than anybody else at the top of this draft class, and uses that edge to get into the heads of opposing ball handlers. He has the intangibles that a lot of NBA guys will fall in love with.
