15. John Petty, SG, Alabama

The start to the season has been kind to Alabama freshman, John Petty. Petty has been a reliable scorer for the Crimson Tide. The shooting guard is averaging 12.3 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists per game. I don’t think anybody had predicted this kind of production from Petty.

Moreover, Petty has been shooting three-pointers at a 50 percent clip, whilst attempting an insane average of 10 threes a game. Petty’s best game was against Alabama A&M, he hit 10 of his 13 three-point attempts, en route to a 30 point performance. Despite this, Petty has shown a lack of desire in drawing fouls, he’s only attempted two, and he missed both.

It’s unclear whether this great start it a fluke or not, if Petty can continue this great production, he could become a lottery pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. This could be a special year for the Alabama Crimson Tide if everything goes according to plan — a.k.a, Collin Sexton doesn’t get suspended.
