The third-year big man is putting together isn impressive season for the USC Trojans. Chimezie Metu came into the season as a ‘one-to-watch’, and he’s not disappointed. We’d all agree in saying that Metu has dominated the collegiate game this season.

For the Trojans, Metu is averaging 17.8 points per game, 8.1 rebounds per game and 1.9 blocks per game. Metu is exactly what the Boston Celtics needs: an inside presence who can also score and grab rebounds. I don’t think there’s a more perfect fit in the draft for either parties.

Metu’s best performance of the year came against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos. The big man put up 31 points and hit three of his five three-point attempts. If Metu can continue hitting threes at a consistent level, his draft stock should rise.
