14. Lonnie Walker IV, SG/SF, Miami
Walker has been coming off the bench for the Hurricanes, but has earned the edge over Brown for the time being. He’s 6-foot-4 with a 6-foot-11 wingspan, enticing physical tools for a two-guard who has shown some impressive instincts on the defensive end.
Offensively, Walker relies mostly on spot-ups at this point. He’s a capable slasher who can play well above the rim, but he hasn’t had much of a featured role in Miami’s veteran-ladden rotation. He’s only shooting 31.3 percent from deep, but his stroke projects well long term.
An upper-echelon athlete with a nice 3-and-D skill set, Walker should have enough to keep himself in the lottery discussion this summer. I expect his role to grow as the season goes on, so he should get more opportunities to show his stuff as well.
