Most of Porter’s stock depends on his medical returns. NBA teams already view him as an elite prospect after his high school days, so whether or not his back checks out will be the key determinent for a lot of teams.

Dallas is already committed to Dennis Smith Jr. as their point guard of the future, so that probably pushes Trae Young off the table. That leaves Porter, who might be the best pure bucket-getter at the forward spots since Kevin Durant. It’s not hard to picture him starting alongside Harrison Barnes with the Mavs.

At 6-foot-10, Porter’s physical tools project well defensively too. We were hoping to see more of his playmaking chops at Missouri this season, but that’s something teams will have to gauge in individual workouts over the summer.
