2019 NBA Draft

The NBA has changed the Lottery rules beginning in 2019.  As such, the worst team in the NBA no longer has a 25 percent chance for a number one pick.  That “best probability” is capped at 14 percent. At the time of the announcement regarding the change, we applauded the change. Why you ask?

Kings pick to Sixers value going through the roof.

The Kings can land finish the 2018-2019 NBA season at 26 and the 76ers will still have a 10 percent chance at the best pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. All the while, the same Philadelphia 76ers have their own first round pick, plus two second round picks in that draft. So in a scenario where the Lakers pick conveys this season, the 2019 NBA Draft will hold another opportunity to land multiple stars for the Sixers.

How good will the 2019 NBA Draft be? As of right now, it appears to be loaded with front court stars.  That could change, as the likely top prospects are still playing high school basketball.  Still, it places one more roster restocking for the 76ers as the team aims to succeed in post season play.  And if the Cavs and Kings pull off their deal today, the Sixers future is all the brighter for it.
