The Philadelphia 76ers are a bubble team, barely hanging onto the eigth and final NBA playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. But they have money to spend, and need for shooters. Hey Sixers, watcha gonna do with all that salary cap?

The Philadelphia 76ers stand at .500. At the end of January 2018,the NBA-Playoff-hopeful team has won 24 games and lost 24 games. And they are currently spiralling down in a three-game losing streak. The problem? Team president appears to be running the team “in absentia”. Since the trade of Jahlil Okafor and Nik Stauskas to the Brooklyn Nets for Trevor Booker, the team has been limping along injured and with a hole in the roster.

But there is a trade deadline coming, and the Philadelphia 76ers have an excess of second round picks in the 2018 NBA Draft. But, does anyone not name Sam Hinkie even value second round picks anymore?  That remains to be seen.

Picks for shooters!

If there is an NBA team starving for draft picks with a capable NBA shooting guard, the Philadelphia 76ers are likely looking at what it will take to make a deal as you read this.  So how much money can they spend? Well that’s a nice little chunk of change right now.

So of the group on this list, the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers have plenty of space, and both are in hot pursuit of getting into post-season.  But despite the attestation of Colangelo to be shopping for shooters, there’s not a lot of action going on right now.

Next: Should the Sixers trade for Joe Johnson?

In Philadelphia, we don’t really want to know what Fergy is gonna do with all that junk in her trunk. But we do wanna know what Bryan Colangelo is gonna do with all that salary cap.
