17. Daniel Gafford, PF/C, Arkansas
Gafford, like Hutchison and Gilgeous-Alexander, has been a big riser all season. Much akin to Zach Collins in 2017, he’s an under-the-radar freshman who quickly emerged as one of the best non-elite bigs in this class.
The names in front of Gafford might hurt him, but he still has a shot at the lottery. Standing around 6-11 with long arms and plenty of athleticism, his defensive upside is something teams will be willing to gamble on — especially given the perceived drop-off outside the top 10 or so prospects.
Offensively, Gafford is still a work in progress. He’s an aggressive finisher around the rim and somebody who runs the floor well for his size, but his skill set is still relatively basic on that end.
