The Philadelphia 76ers are a young team, and will have enough 2018 salary cap to spend on a max contract. Ben Simmons is doing his best to intrigue fans and front office with idea it should be LeBron James

The Philadelphia 76ers are a young and rapidly improving team. LeBron James, even at 33 years of age, is arguably the best NBA player in the sport today. And he has friends throughout the NBA. One such friend is Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons. LeBron has befriended Simmons for years.  In fact, they have worked out together in the off-season. And it’s that background which has tied the two together.

LeBron James is often approached for non-basketball matters. And he sees himself now, as an NBA star with the power of the media personna he has earned, as somewhat of an enlightened despot. As such, he does not shy away from commenting about society on the whole. He does not back down when challenged on social media.

Pay-it-forward

But it’s that same paying-it-forward which has compelled him to give to younger players entering the league. At some point in every adults’ life, we see the future as the responsibility for the next generation. Our wealth of knowledge and wisdom changes direction at that moment. We seek to share with others, in the hopes that when the game, or our careers, are behind us, the next wave can benefit from what we learned and reach ever greater heights.

Much like a LeBron James working with incoming rookie Ben Simmons on his three point shot.

Lebron James has never backed down from talking about Ben Simmons, and he has positive things to say about Simmons, and the entire Philadelphia 76ers organization. He has referred to himself as Ben Simmons’ mentor, and that is all that it takes to launch the NBA media into interrogation whenever the two teams face one another.
