10. F-Street Station

The F-Street Station is not Anchorage Alaska Sports Bar per se. It’s an experience unto itself.  The website itself invites you with this philosophical introduction:

"“If you teach a man to fish, you may feed him for a lifetime but, if you show a man F Street he may never eat at home again! Fresh Alaskan seafood cooked to order right in front of you. Generously portioned fish filet sandwiches, halibut and chips, and calamari. There’s a giant block of cheese at the bar that you can slice on your own while you wait for your drink order.”"

And it’s true. There is this huge block of cheese which you can help yourself to as you await your drink order to be filled. You can’t catch the game here, but you can certainly forget a team’s loss if you need to.

Cuisine

As most Alaskan eateries do, this place specializes in seafood. While you can order and be quite satisfied with any number of standard menu items, I heartily recommend trying the Beer Battered Alaskan Halibut (Alaska’s version of fish and chips). For a lighter offering,  the Salmon or Halibut Salad is a taste quencher but doesn’t overfill you with a lite appetite.   But if you are like me, and like to enjoy your sports with a tasty sandwich, select either the Grilled Halibut or the Sourdough Crab Sandwich.

Then you have your other hand free to wash it down with a savory libation from any number of beers on tap. They are located at

325 F Street
Anchorage, AK 99501
