6- Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings is the first and only “chain” restaurant on this list, and for good reason. Few national chains make it to Alaska successfully, but B-Dub has the right mix of rowdy and responsive to fill the bill. And for the reason it made it to this list?  Let’s face it. Despite adventuring to far away lands, some travellers simply draw the line at local cuisine.  That very notion gave rise to chain restaurants to begin with.  Now you can be in Anchorage Alaska, and know exactly what you will find at the restaurant.

That is not to say that you are isolated from the local libations and pallette pleasers. On the contrary, they do a fine job of including local brews on tap. But the menu is… regulated.  They have salads, burgers, wraps. But the draw to Buffalo Wild Wings is, of course, the wings.

Wings, beer, and basketball

And for some uncanny reason, wings, beer, and basketball (or any Philly sport for that matter), just seem to go together. And B-Dub has television monitors surrounding the perimeter. You can find your game on one of the dozens, and simply turn to another to catch the score of that game too.

I don’t recommend Buffalo Wild Wings as your only stop in Anchorage, Alaska. But it’s tried and true.  You can find it here:

3400 C Street

And don’t forget to try a local brew.
