Moritz Wagner, PF/C, Michigan

The man nicknamed “Moe Buckets” is the leader of this Michigan team that won its second-straight Big Ten Tournament, where he was named Tournament MVP,, and is now a hot 3-seed for the NCAA Tournament.

The German big man plays with a swag and cockiness that drives other players crazy and gives him more confidence.

Wagner is averaging over 14 points and seven rebounds per game this season, and although his scoring has been streaky, he has a huge impact on opposing defenses.

He is the star of the Wolverines offense and teams come in trying to key in on Wagner, but the solid supporting cast has continued to keep producing wins.

When Wagner is on, he’s capable of putting up big numbers and scoring at all three levels. He can knock down 3-pointers with ease, and teams fall for his pump fakes constantly which allows him to get to the rim, where he’s a proficient finisher.

The Wolverines have a potential matchup with two-seed North Carolina in the Sweet 16, but Wagner could present a matchup problem for the Tar Heels.

Wagner projects as a second round pick and he could play some small ball five at the next level, but he seems best suited to play the four, which eh is more than capable of doing with his ability to shoot from beyond the arc.
