NCAA Tournament: Top 5 NBA prospects from East Region
By Tyler King
Collin Sexton, PG, Alabama
There might be no individual player people are more excited to watch in this year’s tournament than Collin Sexton.
The freshman point guard carried his team to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament, ultimately getting his team into the big dance as a nine seed.
Sexton is drawing comparisons to Kemba Walker, who carried UConn to the championship as an eight seed back in 2011.
There’s no doubt Sexton has the ability to score at will, as he did in the SEC Tournament, and he is one of the most talented players in the tourney as a whole.
The one area about Sexton’s game that has been inconsistent this season is his 3-point shooting, but he’s been at his best when the lights are shining brightest.
Alabama has a tough matchup against Virginia Tech in the first round, but if the Crimson Tide can win that game, there will be a lot of hype surrounding their next game against Villanova.
Sexton is a projected lottery pick as of now, and would actually be a good fit for the Sixers as a guard that can come off the bench and score in bunches against opposing reserves.
NBA fans are going to want to tune in whenever Sexton and the Crimson Tide are on the floor during the tournament.
Next, let’s take a look at a freshman that has come out of nowhere and helped his team become a surprise three seed in the tournament.
