NCAA Tournament: Top 5 NBA prospects from East Region
By Tyler King
Landry Shamet, PG, Wichita State
Landry Shamet burst onto the college basketball scene last season when he helped lead Wichita State past seven-seed Dayton in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and then almost took down two-seed Kentucky in the second round.
Shamet is an intriguing prospect as he is capable ball handler and an excellent shooter, making over 45 percent of his 3-pointers this season.
He is capable of carrying his team offensively and that’s what might need to happen if he wants to build his draft stock.
Shamet has good size for a guard at 6-4 but he lacks quickness off the dribble. He makes up for that with his ability to rise and knock down jump shots from just about anywhere.
The Shockers will likely face Villanova in the Sweet 16 if they make it that far, which would provide a much anticipated matchup.
