NCAA Tournament: Top 5 NBA prospects from the Midwest Region
By Tyler King
Miles Bridges, SF/PF, Michigan State
Miles Bridges made a big decision when he chose to return to Michigan State for his sophomore season when he would have likely been a lottery pick last year.
He hasn’t done much to improve upon his draft status and will still likely be picked at the back half of the lottery this year.
Bridges has been taking more 3-pointers this season and despite his percentage has gone down, his form looks much better.
He’s still very aggressive offensively and is averaging just under 17 points per game. The Detroit native projects as a backup forward at the next level that will come off the bench and play with a lot of energy and compete defensively, while knocking down the shots that come to him.
As I mentioned earlier, Michigan State is an intriguing team to watch in the tournament and has the potential to reach the Final Four, despite failing to reach the championship game of the Big Ten Tournament after coming in as the No. 1 seed.
Bridges is still the Spartans’ most reliable player right now, despite Jackson being a better NBA prospect, and is must-watch TV when he’s scoring like he’s capable.
