Sexton could end up going a lot higher than this, but it’s tough to ignore his season-long red flags based on a handful of strong SEC Tournament games. He’s shooting a very inconsistent 24.2 percent from deep in conference play, while his passing doesn’t stack up to the likes of Trae Young.
Nonetheless, the Clippers can add a young point guard capable of developing behind some of their older backcourt players. Sexton’s competitive fire and defensive energy would fit this team well, while there’s plenty of time to iron out any issues with his shot.
Sexton’s strong frame and explosive first step make him tough to stop once he’s going downhill. He’s also a tough shot-maker, capable of taking over games when things are falling in his favor. He won’t drop any further than this.
