The Philadelphia 76ers turned a 2nd consecutive should-win game into a nail-biter by downing the visiting Brooklyn Nets 120-116. Here’s your game recap.

The script was pretty easy to follow for this game  recap. After a come-from-behind-nail-biter road win against the New York Knicks, the fans at Wells Fargo Center expected to see the Philadelphia 76ers dominate the Brooklyn Nets.  While the Philadelphia 76er did win, the team did very little  script following. For instance, the worst team in the NBA in turnovers only turned the ball over five times.  Meanwhile the top-rebounding team in the NBA came up short in rebounds in this one, 51-60.

Well maybe the players followed the script. Surely center Joel Embiid, the surest offensive force on the team, would have a good night offensively. Well, he did, thanks to sinking 11-11 foul shots. From the floor, the All-Star NBA center shot just 26.1 percent.  But he held the game lead in scoring at 24 points, and pulled down a career high 19 rebounds. He also dished out four assists, and had a mighty block as the game clock wore down to preserve the win.

It was another game where the team seemed intent to flirt with disaster.  The Nets jumped out to a first quarter lead and held on until the early part of the third quarter. In that time, the Philadelphia 76ers fell behind by up to 13 points. Much of the story lay in the rebounds.

But the Brooklyn Nets, with a season average of just 34.9 percent shooting from the perimeter, finished up the night with a 50 percent outburst.  And they didn’t hesitate to shoot from the arc, letting 30 shots fly from deep. In contrast, the Philadelphia 76ers typically make plenty of attempts, but only attempted 27 from three-point range.  In all, the Philadelphia 76ers won. But this was a bizarro world game.
