Bates-Diop led the Buckeyes to an unexpected five-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Standing around 6-7 with long arms, he has the potential to provide a nice scoring lift at the four spot for a Wolves team that lacks depth in the frontcourt.
Bates-Diop added tons to his offensive repertoire inside the arc. He hit tough shots aplenty, combining strong footwork wth some crafty moves around the painted area. He went from a fringe second rounder to arguably the best player in the Big 10 in one season.
The Wolves should be in the playoff hunt again next season, and Bates-Diop is somebody who can come in and contribute off the bench right away.
