Melton is a quality defender that fits the Celtics’ typical archetype late in the first. He’s athletic and should be able to play either guard spot, giving Brad Stevens another piece to work with in the backcourt.

The FBI investigation worked heavily against Melton this season, keeping him off the floor entirely. He was already working his way into first round discussions last season, though, so strong workouts should keep his stock relatively stable.
3-point shooting will be a major point of emphasis for Melton at the next level. He’s already a smart passer, capable slasher, and high-end defender. He just needs to prove that he can knock down perimeter shots at a league-average rate.
