Miami wilts in their own Heat

The Philadelphia 76ers arrived to Miami prepared for the physicality.  Or rather, Joel Embiid took to the basketball court expecting it. And with his play, the Sixers had a physical package of their own: Justin Anderson, T.J. McConnell, and Embiid.  It wasn’t long before the trio impacted the game.  Anderson and Heat veteran Dwyane Wade had a conflict in game three. McConnell was incredibly verbal in game three. And Joel Embiid’s face mask ended under the foot of Justise Winslow.  Winslow had 19 point in game 3 in the first half. But he didn’t score again in the second half.

The Heat cannot match the Philadelphia 76ers offense. So their strategy is to foul, get physical, and grind the Sixers fast pace to a crawl.  But they learned the hard way that the 76ers can be just as physical, just as defensive minded, and won’t be intimidated.

Philly take two in Miami

They defeated the Miami Heat handily in game three. Then, in an ugly game of 26 turnovers and under 30 percent shooting from the perimeter, the Philadelphia 76ers won game four.

As a result, the Philadelphia 76ers return home to the Wells Fargo Center with a chance to close out the series with a win. And that will be Joel Embiid’s first playoff game at home. Or in his own words:

And of all players, Joel Embiid has backed up his talk most of all.
