I’ve gone back and forth on this, but I struggle to keep Doncic out of the top spot. Ayton is a physical freak and probably has the highest upside in the draft, but Doncic’s accomplishments overseas are becoming increasingly difficult to vote against.

At 7-1 with a 7-5 wingspan and an unreal frame, Ayton has the kind of physical tools that would normally indicate a defensive cornerstone. He’s also quick on his feet, which is borderline unfair for somebody with his size. He actually struggled on that end with Arizona, though, as his instincts left much to be desired.

Offensively, Ayton makes up some of that ground. His strength and well-versed post game should make him effective from day one. He’s a legitimate pick-and-pop threat as well. Add in solid passing on the block, and you have somebody who should be locked into the top two.
