Shamet is a plus shooter, smart passer and gritty defender, all while boasting one of the highest basketball I.Q.s in this year’s draft. That combination normally bodes well at the next level.

While not the most impressive athlete, Shamet does have nice tools at the point guard spot. His spot-up ability makes him functional off the ball, while he should be capable of heading an NBA offense right away.

That, combined with his aforementioned defensive prowess, makes Shamet one of the best lead guards outside of the lottery. This class isn’t overly deep at point guard — or on the perimeter in general — so expect Shamet to get a steady dosage of first round looks.
