Metlon was probably the best prospect shut down by the FBI investigation, spending the entire season on the sidelines for USC. He showed enough last season to draw first round looks, though.

A plus athlete with long arms, Melton’s appeal is tied heavily to his defense. He’s capable of defending either guard spot successfully, giving the Blazers a much-needed injection of length and defensive toughness on the perimeter.

He’s also a solid slasher with a high basketball I.Q. and good passing instincts. He needs to clean up his handles and add a reliable 3-point shot, but Melton would give the Blazers a nice developmental piece in a backcourt that’s due for a shake-up.
