6. player. 38. . PG. Oklahoma. Trae Young

Shelvin Mack led the Magic in assists in 3.9 per game last season. They’re desperately lacking at the point guard spot, and Young is easily the best lead guard in this class. Late-season struggles aside, Young still brings the kind of upside that can revamp Orlando’s rebuild.

Shot selection was an issue for Young, but most of that ties back to his role. Oklahoma didn’t offer him much help, so he was tasked with carrying the offense for long stretches. He’s still an elite facilitator with excellent feel in the pick-and-roll, while his shooting brings obvious benefits.

In the NBA, Young can do more work off the ball, diversifying his shot attempts and ideally stabilizing his efficiency. The Magic aren’t fun right now. Hopefully Young can change that.
