Melton helped himself at the combine, showcasing the elite defensive upside and slashing that made him a first round prospect last season. He spent his sophomore season sidelined due to the FBI investigation, but seems primed to secure a guaranteed contract next season.

The Warriors get to add another lengthy defender to their backcourt arsenal. Shaun Livingston is getting older and Quinn Cook might not be the long-term solution behind Stephen Curry. Melton is a versatile defender who, despite limited shooting, can get to the rim and make plays when operating downhill.

He’s arguably the best prospect left on the board and somebody the Warriors can fit seamlessly into their system. This is probably the dream spot for late-first round prospects, even if it doesn’t mean huge minutes on day one.
