player. 24. . C. Duke. Wendell Carter Jr. . 7

Robin Lopez isn’t in the Bulls’ future plans and Bobby Portis will be hitting free agency soon. Adding somebody who can share the frontcourt with Lauri Markkanen long term makes sense, even if wing depth is a priority.

Carter was buried behind Duke’s other five-star talent at times, but he still boasts an all-around skill set that should translate nicely to the next level. He’s a polished post presence, combining tight footwork with nice touch at the rim and good instincts as a passer. He can also space the floor.

Defensively, Carter wasn’t put in the best position at Duke. He was defending out of position at times and the zone didn’t give NBA scouts the best look at his ability. The length, mobility and basketball I.Q. is all present, though. He should be a solid, if not above average, presence on that side of the ball.
