Were those really the best names the Philadelphia 76ers’ GM could come up with? Oh Bryan…

Bryan Colangelo’s time as Philadelphia 76ers GM is going to come to a fantastic and dramatic ending. The already heavily scrutinized and hated GM has dug his own grave and, I have to say, he went down in flames.

There is a zero percent chance that he is going to recover from this. This doesn’t just hurt his reputation, it destroys it. You think players like Joel Embiid are going to want to play under him anymore? Nope, and nor should they.

The NAMES

@AlVic40117560, @Honesta34197118, @Enoughunkownso1, and @s_bonhams are names you would expect a child to come up with when making twitter handles. Which makes the situation all the more humorous. I assume he saw that “notbryancolangelo” was taken so he had to improvise from there.

More from Sixers News

Colangelo himself has admitted to using the account @phila1234567 (another solid name)  in order to “monitor our industry and other current events”. However even this admitted account still has a sketchy feel to it.

Why didn’t Colangelo just make the account under his name? And why did he keep the account completely secret? If he was in-fact just using it to monitor the industry it seems weird that no one would know about it until now, because keep in mind, even the Sixers media representatives didn’t know about the account. Very fishy.

With the knowledge that Colangelo has already made one secret twitter account, it shouldn’t be crazy to believe that he made the other ones. Not to mention that all the accounts listed above have very curious and noticeable ties to Colangelo himself. Connections as mentioned in Ben Detricks’ article on The Ringer.

True or False

Colangelo supporters will hold on to the fact that these reports are still young and not verified as true yet. However, It really doesn’t matter that the reports haven’t been proven to be 100 percent true.

Colangelo’s job as GM comes with the responsibility to maintain the brand of the Sixers. His name should not be appearing in articles and reports like this, period. True or not, because of this scandal, the Sixers are in a bad situation. Soon there will be a lot of questions about this and these questions aren’t going to go away if he still has a job.

Next: Is trading for Kemba Walker an option?

This team does not need a distraction like Colangelo in its organization, they have much bigger things to worry about. Colangelo has forced his hand with this mess up and the Sixers will have no other choice but to let him go.
