Weaknesses
DiVincenzo can shoot from deep and finish at the rim, but he doesn’t have much of a mid-range game. It’s not a necessity for his NBA survival, but it could help his role as an energy scorer. He’s show he’s capable of stop-and-pop shots around the elbow, but I’d like to see him showcase more runners and floaters. His limited handle restrains his ability to pick his spots on the floor.
Per 36 minutes, DiVincenzo only averaged 3.3 free throw attempts. That’s a number that will need to improve, if he wants to stabilize his off-the-bench-scoring in the NBA. His main scoring opportunities in the NBA will be catch-and-shoot threes and transition finishes. Finding easy points at the line and improving on his 71 percent free throw percentage, will help DiVincenzo stay on the court when his shot isn’t falling.
Defensively, DiVincenzo will probably be limited to guarding point guards and shooting guards. His wingspan is only 6-6. He’ll have a tough time getting switched onto taller wings. He’s a strong positional defender, but he lacks NBA-length. Versatile defenders are huge boons in today’s NBA, but DiVincenzo could become a switch-target versus bigger lineups.
