The Jazz reportedly want more shooting and Allen is on their radar. The infamous Duke guard shined at the combine and has been turning heads in pre-draft workouts, making this pick feel wholly possible.
As one of the best pure shooters in the draft, Allen’s value is rooted in his ability to hit shots on the move and spread well beyond the NBA three-point line. He’s also a much-improved playmaker, though, essentially taking on point guard duties at Duke in recent seasons.
Letting Allen share the backcourt with Donovan Mitchell makes a lot of sense.
