At 6-10 with fluid shooting mechanics and solid mobility, Kurucs projects well in the modern NBA. The Hawks have three first-round picks, which might push them toward at least one draft-and-stash prospect.
Kurucs took a step back this season after getting top-20 love in 2017. He struggled to carve out a role on Barcelona’s main squad, spending most of his time on their B-team once again. Whoever drafts him will need to make sure he’s in a situation that encourages development.
Given his size and playmaking potential, Kurucs makes sense as an end-of-round investment. He’ll spend a couple years overseas, then give the Hawks another versatile frontcourt piece to integrate next to John Collins and Mo Bamba.
