Furkan Korkmaz

Season stats: 1.6 points, 0.8 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.1 steals, 0.1 blocks, 28.6% FG, 29.4% 3PT, 50% FT

Grade: C-

No one really expected much from Korkmaz going into the season, and rightly so. He came into the league after a year stashed in Europe and never cracked the rotation.

Although he didn’t make much of a difference in the NBA, the Turk performed rather well in his nine G-League games. The 20-year-old wing averaged 15.4 points and 5.2 boards in 31.9 minutes of play. Unfortunately, his erratic shooting plagued him: he shot just 35.3 percent from the floor and 19.4 percent from long range in the G-League.

The Turkish Kevin Durant is not NBA-ready yet, as shown by the fact that he played in just 14 NBA games, but if he puts in the time and effort this summer, he could receive some meaningful minutes next season if a spot in the rotation opens up.

Korkmaz should spend more time with the Delaware Blue Coats next season. At this stage in his development, he needs to play competitive basketball and develop his I.Q. for the game. Once he learns to choose his shots wisely and become a reliable, efficient scorer, he could become an integral part of the Sixers’ second unit.
