Jackson is arguably the best defensive big in the draft, with impressive instincts as a shot-blocker and the ability to contain quicker guards on the perimeter. He fits the modern game and is 6-foot-11 with a 7-foot-5 wingspan, giving him all the requisite physical tools.

He also projects as an important contributor offensively, setting hard screens and either rolling to the rim or popping out for a three-point shot. His shooting mechanics are odd, but they work — he’s already an elite pick-and-pop threat.

There is also some untapped potential with Jackson in the post. He didn’t really play enough at Michigan State, but he’s an apt passer who displays nice touch on the block. Some folks question his ability to develop into a go-to option, but he has the versatility and skill needed to get there.
