Doncic is the best European prospect of all-time, bar none. He recently won Euroleague MVP before leading Real Madrid to the championship, where he earned Final 4 MVP. He also paired with Goran Dragic to lead Slovenia to their first Eurobasket title last summer. He’s only a few months into his 19th year of life.
At 6-foot-8, Doncic is an elite playmaker who can attack defenses in a variety of ways. He’s not an elite athlete, but makes up for that by utilizing changes in speed and shifty dribble combinations to keep his defenders off balance and get where he wants.
In the pick-and-roll, Doncic is capable of making just about every available pass. He can see over the top of defenders and throw accurate dimes with the perfect velocity every time. He should be able to play off the ball as well, making him an impact piece in just about any system.
The fact that Doncic might slip to the fourth spot on draft night is almost disappointing.
