The Bulls lack frontcourt depth next to Lauri Markkanen. Carter can serve as Robin Lopez‘s eventual (or immediate) replacement, giving the Bulls an all-around big who can post-up, space the floor and move the ball.

Perimeter defense is the biggest concern with Carter’s game, but he’s an decent athlete with plus physical tools. At 6-foot-11 with a 7-foot-5 wingspan, his combination of length and basketball I.Q. should bode well under an NBA coaching staff.

Carter has drawn a lot of comparisons to Al Horford in the pre-draft process, and for good reason. He’s fundamentally sound and does all the little things offensively, something that could be useful when paired with a skilled power forward of Markkanen’s ilk.
