Chris McCullough and his highlight poster provides only bright spots in an otherwise rough 87-75 loss for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Well… that was a tough one. The Philadelphia 76ers started out the game missing 10 straight shots, foreshadowing what turned out to be an abysmal shooting effort. Whenever you hear an announcer say “cutting the lead to 13!” with any sort of excitement, you know the game wasn’t that close.

The Wizards young talent, lead by a fantastic game from first rounder Troy Brown Jr., played a great game. The Sixers had no match for Brown Jr. as he had a game high 23 points. He, along with the rest of the team, basically got any shot they wanted all day against the summer league defense.

It seemed like whenever the Sixers tried to make any type of run to cut into the lead, they would turn it over or miss a string of shots. This is definitely another match up were the final score should be just forgotten. But… did you see some of those dunks? They were pretty cool. Or maybe the rest of the game was just so boring that they just seemed cool in comparison. Either way, check the SportCenter top 10 tonight.

The Sixers’ notable young prospects, Furkan Korkmaz and Zhaire Smith had some very poor games. The signs of Furkan’s miraculous 40-point game have all but vanished as he only managed one singular point during tonight’s game. As of a result, focus was shifted to the Sixers more unknown prospects.

Once again, this is summer league! This loss and the other ones should all not create panic. The Sixers have a ton of guys on their roster, so the struggles of the individual players in summer league won’t really have any affect on the actual team.

If anything its good that the Sixers’ young players are struggling now. If there was ever a time to get the growing pains out of the way, summer league is that time.
