The Philadelphia 76ers continue their Cinderella run in Summer League after a 91-89 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Survive and advance. That’s what the 30th-seeded Philadelphia 76ers did on Saturday night, extending their Summer League run with an exciting 91-89 win over the 14th-seeded Milwaukee Bucks.

Despite being in control for most of the second half, the Sixers fell apart in Sixersy fashion midway through the fourth quarter. The Bucks at one point went on a 15-0 run, led by Christian Wood — an honorary, lifelong Sixer who appears more than deserving of an NBA contract.

On the night, Wood tallied 27 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks. He flashed instincts as a rim-protector and showed versatility on the offensive end, hitting a three-point shot and finishing multiple lobs at the rim.

Also of note, the Sixers need frontcourt depth and two-way contracts. This is Wood’s second monster game in a row, and Brett Brown already has a relationship from past years. The fit is very real.

As for the game, the Sixers rebounded from their fourth-quarter struggles in a big way. Furkan Korkmaz showed up down the stretch, scoring eight points in 40 seconds during the game’s final minute. After hitting some clutch free throws and finishing an and-one at the rim, Korkmaz gave the Sixers a 90-89 lead.

Jonah Bolden would later add the final point at the line.

Overall, this was one of the Sixers’ most complete efforts this summer. Cameron Oliver and Chris McCullough weren’t spectacular, but played their role on both ends. Bolden had arguably his best game yet, scoring 13 points and making plays on defense.

As a collective group, this was the perimeter starters’ best game to date. Korkmaz didn’t go for 40, but hit big shots all night — especially down the stretch. Zhaire made some hyper-athletic plays on both ends, while Demetrius Jackson made some strong drives to the rim.
