The Philadelphia 76ers may not be done making trades this summer as another possible trade rumor is floating around involving the club.

The Philadelphia 76ers were wise to agree to Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Justin Anderson out in the three-team trade that landed the franchise Mike Muscala. However, the deal leaves the Sixers slightly thin at the wing position. That may not be the case for very long. According to Keith Pompey of philly.com, the deal to land Muscala isn’t official yet due to the fact that the 76ers are trying to do another deal as well.

Pompey wrote in a recent article that the player the Sixers are trying to trade for is Kyle Korver who is currently on the Cleveland Cavaliers and the primary player Philadelphia is trying to exchange for Korver is combo guard Jerryd Bayless. Pompey included in his article that Korver’s $7.5 million contract next season is only partially guaranteed for at $3.44 million. This gives the Sixers flexibility going into the free agency next offseason.

Now it’s important to note that Marc Stein of The New York Times gave more insight to where exactly a potential deal stands.

While nothing seems immediate, it doesn’t mean that there shouldn’t be any speculation on what a potential deal should look like.

More from Rumors

In the past, Christopher Kline Co-Site Expert of The Sixer Sense wrote about what a possible trade Bayless for Korver would look like. In Kline’s hypothetical trade, he had the Sixers sending Bayless and two future second round picks to the Cavaliers for Korver. Kline’s proposed trade seems more than reasonable for both sides involved.

Korver would be the ideal sharp shooter off the bench for the Sixers. If this rumor would come into fruition, The 76ers would possess arguably two of the top five 3-point shooters in the NBA with Korver and J.J. Redick. This would open up so much on offense for Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

If a deal does get done, Korver would be rejoining the franchise where he played his first five seasons in the NBA. With the Sixers he averaged 10.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists, while 40.9 percent from the 3-point line. Having Korver return to where he started his career would be a fitting way for him to potentialy end it.

Next: A quick look into the Sixers’ acquisition of Muscala

While it appears these are just in the stage of having talks, the rumor of the Philadelphia 76ers acquiring Korver should have fans excited. At the same time, there should be caution taken by 76ers fans so not to be disappointed in case the deal doesn’t happen. This situation should be followed closely in the upcoming days.
