Lets look at three bold predictions for the man behind the X’s and O’s for the Philadelphia 76ers, Brett Brown.

During the offseason, NBA analysts and opiners write much about predictions for players during the upcoming season. However, what about the coaches? Coaches need wildly bold predictions made about them as well.

Brett Brown has been at the center of all things Philadelphia 76ers for the entire offseason. In many respects, its exactly what you would anticipate for a coach coming off his most successful season, leading a stacked team into a new year, hot off their first playoff appearance in forever.

However, Brown has been at the forefront for more reasons than this. Brett has also held the title of interim General Manager since the departure of Bryan Colangelo, his wife, Eric Jr., and their several associated burner Twitter accounts.

What then, can you boldly predict for the man who has it all?

1. At some point, Brett Brown will be named permanent General Manager

This one just seems like a matter of time. The team has gone through an entire offseason barely making waves in this regard. Many people will criticize this prediction with various reasons, and many of which may be valid; but no matter, these are my bold predictions.

Brett has been a great team player and is a phenomenal voice for the franchise. He was around for the famous (or infamous) Hinkie years, and is reaping the benefits, after completing his first winning season as a Head Coach.

Brown also (with the help of the organization at-large) completed a pretty impressive draft as the leading man. Though the offseason did not yield the “star” so much speculation and verbiage were given over to, it was not all for nothing. The additions of Wilson Chandler and Mike Muscala filled roles left void with the departure of last year’s rental talent.

2. Brett Brown will coach the All-Star team

You heard it here first. The Sixers will go into the break with the best record in the East, thus earning Brett Brown the right to coach in his first All-Star game.

The Philadelphia 76ers are in a good position to take an East-best record into the break. The first half of their season does not look significantly difficult; while it’s the back half of the schedule that will put Philly’s beloved Ballers to the test.

We can expect at least three Philly All-Stars heading to Charlotte, and so Brett Brown can also head down to Spectrum Center and join his top players there as well.

3. Brett Brown will not win Coach of the Year

Two words: Brad Stevens.

Brad is just too good as a coach right now. However well Philadelphia does this season, Brad Stevens will out-coach his star counterpart. Stevens is a master of the X’s and O’s of the hardwood, and when it comes down to crunch time, coming out of time outs and the like, Stevens will simply shine brighter than all the rest.

However, I anticipate Brett Brown will finish second in the voting for Coach of the Year, and we will call that a successful growth for the former Spurs assistant, and something that can be built on in the 2019-20 season.

This looks to be a year where many of the Sixers’ players are going to grow exponentially, and that shouldn’t be any different for the Head Coach. ‘The Process’ has always been about the building of an organization that can compete for years.

We have arrived at a point in this development where we can start looking for ceilings to be shattered, and unanticipated levels to be reached.

I expect great things from the leaders of the Liberty Ballers this year, and you should, too.
