Jones’ role was limited last season, averaging just 4.2 points in 21.2 minutes per game. He was still an important part of a physical, athletic Alabama backcourt, though, flashing the two-way versatility that NBA teams covet.

Standing 6-foot-7 with long arms, Jones profiles as an aggressive defender capable of guarding multiple positions on the perimeter. In limited playing time, he averaged 1.3 steals and 0.6 blocks per game, breaking up plays at all levels.

His offense remains unpolished, but he’s athletic enough to do damage as an off-ball cutter and slasher in time. He shot 26.9 percent from deep, which is an area scouts will be monitoring closely. If Jones can improve his shooting in an increased role, his stock will skyrocket.

The Crimson Tide will be searching for ways to replace Collin Sexton‘s value, and Jones may be leaned on heavily as a result. His defense, athleticism and overall ceiling earn him a first-round grade.
