Shittu presents intriguing versatility in the frontcourt, something that should be on full display at Vanderbilt. He’s a fluid ball-handler and deft passer, but at 6-foot-10, could see time at both the four and five in the NBA.

Where Shittu needs to make up ground is his offensive polish. The playmaking upside is there, but he lacks reliable scoring. He’s a poor three-point shooter, struggles from the free throw line and doesn’t finish too well at the rim.

On top of his limited offensive repertoire, Shittu is coming off an ACL tear. Knee injuries are always worrisome, so making sure his explosiveness is fully restored will be important. His medical information will also carry some extra weight come June.

Given his athleticism, Shittu should profile as a versatile defender at his position. That, combined with his ball-handling and passing skills, makes him the kind of intriguing talent worth a mid-first round gamble.
