Doumbouya isn’t as polished as some of his American counterparts, but that won’t keep him out of the top-five on most boards. He’s an elite athlete at 6-foot-9, flashing tremendous upside as a slasher and shot-maker.

While still developing as a shooter, there’s reason to believe Doumbouya can become a reliable deep threat at the next level. As somebody who might spend time at power forward, his explosive first step and slashing ability, combined with a three-point shot, would create some nightmarish matchups for the opposing defense.

On the defensive end, Doumbouya’s size, quickness and athleticism makes him an obvious NBA fit. He’ll be able to check every box defensively, forcing turnovers, providing weakside rim protection and defending four (maybe even five) positions in spurts.

If Doumbouya is able to add more to his offensive repertoire, his upside is as high as anybody’s in this class. He’s a genuinely elite athlete, something that can help break the stigma that comes with European prospects.
