Williamson might be the most gifted athlete since LeBron James. He’s listed at 6-foot-7, 285 pounds, which would make him the second-heaviest player in the NBA. He’s also capable of dunking from the free throw line.
Sheer athleticism alone makes Williamson a tantalizing prospect. He’s already an unstoppable force in transition, combining legit handles and passing chops with the strength and quickness needed to blow by (or through) any college defender.
He’s also a defensive monster, cleaning up rebounds and using his athleticism to make plays across the board. He’ll need to improve his conditioning and become more reliable in isolation, but jumping into passing lanes and making weakside blocks is easy for Williamson.
We haven’t seen an athletic freak of Williamson’s nature in over a decade, and Williamson is still a different type of athletic freak than LeBron was. That alone puts him in contention for the No. 1 spot, although his lackluster shooting touch is concerning.
