Foster withdrew from the 2018 draft, returning to SMU for his senior year. After missing 14 games with an ACL tear last season, Foster will look to show NBA scouts he’s back to 100 percent next season.
In addition to getting healthy, Foster seems poised to take on a larger role offensively. Shake Milton has made the NBA jump, leaving Foster as the potential go-to option. Before the injury, Foster was averaging a career-high 13.2 points per game.
One point of emphasis for Foster will be consistency from three-point range. He’s a career 37.4 percent shooter from deep, but that number has fluctuated from year to year. If he can shoot efficiently in an expanded role, his stock should rise.
At 6-foot-6, Foster’s length makes him the ideal wing defender for the modern NBA. He already has a mature frame with more room to grow, allowing him to spend time on multiple positions. He should get first round looks if healthy.
