27. Glenn Robinson III, Detroit Pistons
There’s a chance Stanley Johnson holds onto this role, but the former Arizona standout hasn’t established himself as a reliable NBA player yet. Robinson is another versatile, athletic wing defender who shoots the ball more proficiently than Johnson.
26. E’Twaun Moore, New Orleans Pelicans
Moore is undersized at this position, but there’s no reason to believe the Pelicans will move him out of the starting five. In their up-tempo system, Moore’s ability to spot-up and space the floor around Anthony Davis and Julius Randle will be important.
25. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Charlotte Hornets
The former No. 2 pick hasn’t figured things out at the NBA level. He’s just not that effective on offense, avoiding the three-point line and seldom creating his own shots. Where he makes up some ground, however, is the defensive end.
MKG can guard one through four with success, giving the Hornets another switch-friendly weapon next to Nicolas Batum. MKG might not live up to his pre-draft hype, but he’s still a valuable defensive piece in the modern NBA.
