27. Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis Grizzlies
Jackson will start for a Grizzlies team looking to make the playoffs. Marc Gasol and Mike Conley will both be healthy to start the season, giving Memphis a solid defensive foundation that Jackson can add to.
His three-point shooting will be a valuable commodity, and his defense — even though he’ll be playing out of position to an extent — puts him ahead of Bagley in year one. Expect the Griz to put a more compelling product on the floor this season.
26. Taj Gibson, Minnesota Timberwolves
Gibson can be viewed as a throwback of sorts, but he was still an impactful offensive player for the Wolves last season. His footwork and interior scoring touch balances nicely with Karl-Anthony Towns‘ shooting prowess in the frontcourt.
25. Ryan Anderson, Phoenix Suns
Anderson was phased out of the rotation in Houston, but he remains an impactful NBA player thanks to his long-range shooting. The Suns will be looking to compete next season, and Anderson can provide immediate value with his spacing.
As someone who can hit from well beyond the NBA three-point line, Anderson should give Deandre Ayton plenty of room to use his physical tools in the paint. He’ll also open up more driving lanes for Devin Booker and Co. on the perimeter.
