Hachimura gradually evolved into an impactful player over his first two seasons. Now, in his junior campaign, he projects to be one of the Zags’ most important players as their championship aspirations reach new heights.
Standing 6-foot-8 with a 7-foot-2 wingspan, Hachimura is a versatile athlete whose defensive potential stands out on screen. He can blow up passing lanes, switch around the perimeter and make weak-side blocks with regularity. He’s unpolished, but the raw ability (and potential) is undeniably there.
The offense is still catching up for Hachimura. He can’t create his own shot (yet) and is a career 22.5 percent three-point shooter. That number isn’t exactly on a high volume of shots either. Given his defense and athletic ceiling, though, the Wizards would be wise to gamble in the mid-first round.
