5. Furkan Korkmaz

Furkan Korkmaz brings one element the Sixers cannot get enough of: Shooting.

Furkan Korkmaz can light it up from deep. He has a fluid, silky release that will earn him playing time this upcoming season. Korkmaz had the majority of his season cut short by a foot injury. He appeared in 14 games and averaged 1.6 points, while seeing 5.7 minutes of floor time.

Going forward, Furkan Korkmaz will be given ample opportunities to earn meaningful minutes. If there’s one thing the second unit lacks (on paper) its three-point shooting. Korkmaz is still a season or two away from getting full-time second string consideration. He’s a long way from being a capable NBA defender. His broomstick physique makes him vulnerable on both sides of the floor, but especially on defense.

Korkmaz had a great summer and has the chance to get minutes. His shooting should earn him 10 or 12 minutes per contest, even if he’s a defensive liability.

Furkan Korkmaz may not breakout expotentially, but improving on 1.6 points per game seems like a relatively easy task for someone with his offensive talents.
